"I wanna be a billionaire sooo freakin baaad! Buy all the things I've never haaad!" I was singing this song while walking the streets of Orchard Road, Singapore. It's a district full of luxury shops and area for everything that shimmers in our eyes. According to the official website of Orchard Road, it is "a great street" because I believe almost all luxury brands can be found in Orchard Road from Louis Vuitton, Channel, Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs, Hermes, Gucci, Bvulgari and the list goes on.
Imagine, 22 shopping malls and 6 humongous department stores in one fine city or street! Here's the complete list as of this year:
313@Simerset, Delfi Orchard, DFS Galleria Scottswalk, Forum The Shopping Mall, Hilton Shopping Gallery, ION Orchard, Knightsbridge, Lucky Plaza, Mandarin Gallery, Ngee Ann City, Orchard Central, Palais Renaissance, Paragon, Plaza Singapura, Scotts Square, Shaw House, Tanglin Mall, The Centerpoint, The Heeren, TripleOne Somerset, Wheelock Place and Wisma Atria.
Orchard Road is a modern and hip cosmopolitan area great for lazy afternoon walks, luxury shopping (if you can afford! hihi), or just go window shopping like me. For the tourists, please be aware that you can shop at some stores for tax free! Just ask for the cashier regarding the procedures and exceptions for GST refund.
Directions: Ride MRT Station to Orchard Station (Red Line # 22. Once you go up, the whole street is Orchard Road! WELCOME! :) Malls open at around 10 am to 9 pm.
